The BKC series electric vessels are specially designed for power factor compensation and filter circuits. The ring material of the capacitor is a metalized polypropylene film with low losses, which is installed in an aluminum cylinder enclosure and filled with inert gas to protect the ring. Due to the use of the latest manufacturing technology and design, the capacitor has greatly improved performance, has a safe explosion-proof structure, and operates stable and reliable.
The capacitor uses a junction block with a three-polar structure, which ensures that the wiring screw will not loose under large electrical and mechanical stress. The maximum cross-sectional area of the wire used to connect the electrical container is 16 mm2, and the torque required for the terminal connection is 2 Nm.
Capacitors have self-healing functions. The operating capacitor is frequently impacted by overvoltage in the electrical grid, causing a ring thin film to be punctured, at which point the self-healing function occurs. After the healing, the electrical capacity has been slightly reduced, but it can still operate normally. During the life cycle of the capacitor, the reduction of the capacitance capacity after several self-healing times does not exceed 2% of the rated value, thereby ensuring the rated capacity of the capacitors.
An over pressure fuse is installed inside the capacitor. If the fault point of the capacitor repeatedly heals itself, it will cause the internal pressure to increase. When the pressure increases to a certain amount, the overpressure fuse acts. The top of the capacitor housing will protrude upward, indicating an internal rupture, and the capacitor will exit operation. This is a visible failure that alerts us to a capacitor failure that should be replaced.
